Golden Compass has been incredible for Stella! We started with puppy school, where she learned basic commands and we gained valuable knowledge on grooming, structure, and socialization. After that, we continued with off-leash training, and now Stella has fantastic recall and loves her newfound freedom outdoors!
We also enrolled in Agility. It has been a great way for Stella to burn energy, while also building confidence and coordination. She LOVES her structured daycare days. The facility is clean, safe, and the staff is fantastic. She always comes home exhausted and happy, having spent time with her friends from puppy school and agility class.

We adopted a 7 yr old lab pit mix, very reactive to all dogs and had unfortunately attacked a dog prior to us knowing the extent of her background. Kayla helped us get comfortable muzzling, leash and reactivity training, as well as remote collar training with Dutchess. We were able to take her camping with a friends dog this past spring and it made all the difference to us! Well worth the price for the lifetime training. Thank you!

If you’re thinking about it, CALL! I rescued a 5 year old pit mix and struggled with her reactivity for years. I tried other trainers and all the self-help tips you could imagine but nothing worked. I called Golden Compass and have never looked back. They took the time to know not just me but my dog and that has made all the difference. Ellie is now able to be off leash with excellent recall and her quality of life is through the roof. I’m less frustrated, which means she is less frustrated and we have way more fun together. I started with Golden Compass when my first boy was 6 months old. Youtube University only took me so far and I realized I needed more personalized support. I found Golden Compass Training and have never looked back. From off leash training, to SUP training and agility, we worked together to lay a really incredible foundation of connection between us.
When he turned three, we got Jac's little brother, Maverick. Golden Compass helped us handle their introduction (Jac was a little salty) and integrate the two of them in a way that advocated for both of them during their transition. Maverick has gone through their puppy class, off leash training and now both of my boys continue their learning in their structured daycare program. The trainers at GC are absolute rockstars. We couldn't be happier with the fun life we get to live as a result of their training support!

There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing Golden Compass Canine is, and how much knowledge and experience everyone there has to share with pup parents because they truly want to see you succeed. We came as defeated puppy preschool dropouts from a different trainer, and I cried happy tears as we finished our sessions as a reliable dog with a confident handler and a strong relationship with a lot of trust.
Never in a million years did I think we would able to enjoy the freedom of off-leash activities or be able to begin agility course training. I also love that we get to stay connected through monthly park meet ups so we can continue practicing our skills together along with the opportunity to attend structured daycare so he can socialize with other dogs in an environment I trust. I can confidently say Golden Compass is the best option for dog training in Wilmington, NC!!
