Kayla grew up surrounded by animals, riding horses and working at local barns in the countryside of Northern Virginia. While attending UNCW, she filled her spare time fostering puppies (a sneaky way of getting her dog fix while living pet-free).
After gaining hands-on experience with a renowned training company, Kayla found her true calling: helping dogs and their owners achieve harmony. Her bubbly, outgoing energy brings an approachable, fun dynamic to the Golden Compass team.

Lauren’s love for animals started early—dogs were always part of the family. But her real journey began when she adopted Wesson, a spirited dog with intense leash reactivity. Mastering communication with him transformed their relationship and sparked Lauren’s passion for helping others.
She later rescued Blue, a near-feral pup, and helped her build confidence and navigate the human world. It’s these quiet, shy souls that remain Lauren’s favorite to train. With over 10 years as a head trainer handling everything from basic obedience to extreme behavioral cases, Lauren brings creativity, experience, and out-of-the-box solutions to every challenge.
These days, when she’s not helping clients, you’ll find Lauren on the competitive agility field with her three youngest dogs—Amble, Binky, and Eden.
